Bio: Max Kasitch was a former bouncer at Club Zero in Metropolis. In 1999, Lex Luthor had brought his friend Amanda Rothman to the club, where they had run into her fiancé Jude Royce, who had been surrounded by women when he was supposed to have been out of town on business. Hurt by his lies and infidelity, Amanda had thrown her engagement ring at Jude, effectively ending their relationship. Accusing Lex of deliberately bringing Amanda to the club, Jude had attacked, stabbing Lex in the shoulder. Max had quickly gotten involved, brandishing a gun. However, in the scuffle, he'd dropped the gun, and Amanda had picked it up and fatally shot Jude. To protect Amanda, Lex had later told rogue cop Sam Phelan that he and Max had struggled for the gun and it had gone off, killing Jude. For his part of the cover-up, Phelan had written in his report that Max alone had shot Jude, before receiving a big payoff from Lex's father Lionel. After taking the blame for Jude's death, Max had disappeared, but had been lured out of hiding in early 2002 by Amanda's brother Roy and an imposter posing as Jude. He'd returned to Smallville to warn Lex that he'd been seeing Jude everywhere, and Lex had responded by giving him the address of an apartment he could stay at in Metropolis. However, Max had never made it to the apartment, and had instead been killed by Roy and the lookalike. His hand had then been severed and sent to Lex.
