In 2001, Lex Luthor's vehicle of choice had been a blue Porsche. He'd driven it his first day at the LuthorCorp Fertilizer Plant in Smallville, Kansas. At the end of the day, he'd driven the Porsche over Loeb Bridge on his way home. Along the way, he'd briefly become distracted by his cellphone, and by the time he'd returned his attention to the road, a bundle of wire had fallen off a truck and landed in the road. He'd swerved to avoid it, crashing into Clark Kent and sending both of them careening into the river below. Clark, unharmed, had then pulled Lex out of his car and performed CPR, with Lex swearing that he'd hit Clark. A few weeks later, he'd shown the wrecked Porsche to amoral reporter Roger Nixon, asking Roger to help him look into the accident. Roger had later come up with a computer simulation of the accident, showing that Lex had in fact hit Clark with his Porsche.
