Bio: Paul Chan is a former student of Smallville High. In early 2002, he'd run for class president, alongside Clark Kent, Sasha Woodman, and Felice Chandler. Out of all the candidates, though, Chloe Sullivan had considered him the most qualified, and therefore had endorsed him as editor of the Smallville High Torch. While Paul had been working on his campaign one night, he'd been attacked by a swarm of bees, landing him in the hospital. After Felice Chandler had been similarly attacked, Clark and Chloe had uncovered that Sasha was a 'meteor freak' with the ability to control bees and that she'd been using her ability to eliminate the competition. In the end, though, Paul had won the race, despite still being in the hospital while elections were going on.
