Bio: Eric Summers is a former student of Smallville High. In early 2002, while on a geology class field trip led by Eric's dad, Eric had nearly fallen to his death, but had been saved by his classmate Clark Kent. However, as Clark had been pulling him to safety, lightning had struck, and because Eric happened to have been holding a fragment of kryptonite, the lightning had transferred Clark's powers to Eric. Initially, Eric had used his newfound powers to help others, such as helping budding journalist Chloe Sullivan recover her laptop from a would-be thief, inspiring her to dub him Super Boy in an article published by the Smallville Ledger. However, when Eric had learned his father had planned to have him experimented on, Eric had instead rebelled, deciding to use his new abilities to impress his crush Holly, as well as terrorize her jock boyfriend Brent. Clark had tried to get Eric to see reason, but had wound up with broken ribs for his trouble. This had caused others to become afraid of Eric, especially Holly and his parents. Eventually, Clark had found Eric at the Smallville Dam, the scene of the original power transfer. There, Clark had managed to get his powers back, and Eric had later been sent to Belle Reve Sanitarium. In early 2004, Clark had run into Eric while visiting Lex Luthor at Belle Reve. Teaming up with fellow inmates Ian Randall and Van McNulty, Eric had hatched a plan to steal Clark's powers once again so that the three of them could escape. However, once Van had acquired the kryptonite they would need, Ian had duplicated himself and killed Van. Then, as Clark had been trying to rescue Lex from radical electroshock therapy, Eric and Ian had ambushed him, beginning the process of leeching Clark's powers. Afterwards, Eric had turned on Ian, killing his supposed friend. Clark had then confronted Eric, reclaiming his powers once again and preventing Eric from escaping Belle Reve.
